Isaac T. Hopper Correspondence, Family Correspondence
This collection consists of correspondence and associated papers written and received by Isaac T. Hopper. The letters and documents are gathered from various sources, but they mainly consist of letters from Isaac Hopper to his daughter Sarah, and which comprise part of the Sarah Hopper Palmer Family Papers. Also included are correspondence with prominent Quakers including Elias Hicks, Thomas M'Clintock and Elijah Pennypacker. The collection touches on an enormous variety of subjects, ranging from Friends doctrine, simplicity, and the Separation of 1827; social justice, abolitionism, and prison reform; and personal anecdotes, accounts of meetings with friends, and the 1832 Cholera Epidemic.
