Journal: A Paper Devoted to the Interests of the Society of Friends
The Journal was established in Philadelphia in 1873 by Joseph Gibbons (1818-1883) who had trained as a physician. He was assisted and then suceeded by his daughter, Marianna Gibbons. In 1885 The Journal merged with the Friends Intelligencer, a Hicksite Quaker weekly.
