Emily Howland letter to Hannah Letchworth Howland
Addressed to her sister-in-law. Does not object to the piece on Cornell that was published in the Woman's Journal, even if it contains some errors. Sorry about Hussey's condition and had been afraid that her spending on the house would make things difficult for her. Wishes that she had retired last year so that they could have hired Theo C. to head the school. Hussey needs a year's rest. Thinks that there are opportunities for boarders at Sherwood but people are not willing to pay what it is worth. If Sarah Jacobs is not going to stay all winter, the house should be closed.
