Dr. Robert B. Lamb was the Medical Superintendent for the Matteawan State Hospital for the Criminally Insane in New York. He responds to a letter from Anna Jackson in which she expressed concern about the entertainment provided at the facility. He writes that the newspaper reports of the recent "exhibition" for the patients at the hospital were misrepresented and further explains that the best entertainment for the "insane" is different from what a non-insane person would enjoy.
