Description
Receipts for the purchase or donation of goods, mostly fabric, needles, etc. Most purchases made from Thomas Mellor and Co., Mellor, Bains, or Sharpless and Sons. The earlier receipts are made out to "the Cherry Street Sewing Society" or the "Cherry Street Association for Relief of the Poor." The later receipts are mostly made out to Elizabeth J. Ferris, treasurer of the Philadelphia Female Association.
