Lucretia Mott passes on recent news of friends and family to her sister Martha "Pattie" Wright and briefly describes a lecture by Anna E. Dickinson. Mott also makes brief mention of sending supplies to Iowa and recent trouble at Camp William Penn (a Union Army training camp for African-American soldiers), and tells stories about her granddaughter Mary Mott Lord (born 1861) and great-granddaughter Maria "May" Hallowell (born 1860).
