It is possible that the last two pages are from a different letter than the first three. Written from Roadside. Lucretia Mott tells her sister Martha about the sickness, death, and burial of her granddaughter (the daughter of Martha "Pattie" Mott Lord and George Lord), as well as the fruit that her family and friends have grown. Heard someone praise Martha Wright for her speech at a recent convention on women's rights, mentions that her first antislavery meeting of the season is coming up, and briefly discusses going to a "colored meeting" involving a man who had been helping fugitive slaves. Mott also talks at length about a visit from Caroline Chase Stratton Wood, who is getting divorced.
