Date written in pencil. The Colored Summer Home mentioned may be a cottage on the grounds of the Institute for Colored Youth in Cheyney, PA (now Cheyney University). The cottage, financed primarily by a $3000 donation from Susanna Brinton, housed students attending the Institute’s summer sessions. By July 11, 1911, fourteen students lived in the cottage.
