Description

Wilbur wrote daily page-length entries describing significant events in detail. Recurring themes are her work at the Patent Office and attending White House receptions and congressional sessions. The memoranda at the end include a reflection on the year as a whole, a summary of the state of her family, a list of objects she saw at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, and various facts and literary extracts.
