The animals came out two by two,

The beaver and crab with their dark and light blue,
(That's an original idea)

The turtle and Peg, with affectionate nods;

Would you call that a play to the gallery gods?

Past the tricks of the wizard, so marvelous mystic,
Past the rescue of Shylock from bold villain’s gun,
Past the Lighter Vein, Fashion Page, chicly artistic,
Then past the Advertisements, and the show's done.
