Papal brief of Pope Innocent XII. Cursive. Brown ink. "INNOCENTIUS. PP. XII." is centered at the top of the document. Text begins with a wispy capital that extends 2 lines above and 1 line below the first line. Four words appear in the line just below the main text ends: "Pontius" (left), "Xri'" (middle left), "Anno" (middle right), and "Octave" (right). "Gratis...Deo et (Sera?)" appears on the left below the main text. Just beneath it are the remnants of a red wax seal. To the right of the seal are three lines of text, followed by a signature. Another, larger signature is on the bottom right side of the page. "1698 2 Augusto" appears to the left of this signature and is followed by three more signatures in a lighter brown ink. An earlier assessment of the document suggests that these three signatures are those of cardinals.
