Dearest Minnie, This time I will not let 5 weeks go without your getting even a note. As usual I have hoped each day to write you a letter, but I have written exactly one note other than business so far, and that was to Lou about her coming. She arrived last Friday, having landed on Thursday. Your letter I got Sunday evening, and was and am so very glad that you have decided to come. I do not believe a holiday, or a break in your summerGÇÖs work, if you prefer to call it so, will hurt in the long run. I will write to Mamie asking her to come as soon as she gets back from Newport. Please write when that will be. 1st Sept, is it not? Cannot you come on August 15 and then of course stay through MamieGÇÖs visit. If another time would suit you better, of course tell me. I hope to be able to supply you with a riding-horse and we have a fair tennis-ground and my phaeton etc, so we can all have open air in abundance, and the place is certainly lovely. Julia sends her love and thanks about the Auteurieth, but it has not yet turned up. Not having BessieGÇÖs address, I send this to B. All send love to her. Tell her I shall write her soon. It is so nice that you are with her. Lovingly yours, Mary E.G.
