Letter from M. Carey Thomas to Mary Elizabeth Garrett, June 13, 1883

M. Carey Thomas writes to Mary Garrett, who is currently in London, from Paris. Gertrude Mead has joined Thomas and Mamie, and Thomas says that the addition of Gertrude has been a happy one. She describes the apartment that the three of them are sharing in Paris. She writes of being ill, and apologizes for not writing sooner. She details her upcoming travels, which will include visiting Gothic castles throughout Normandy and Brittony. She writes of considering visiting Amsterdam, if there are lectures that would interest her there. Included with the letter is a newsclipping of the wedding announcement of Francis Barton Gummere and Amelia Smith Mott, although the letter does not make mention of the clipping or the event.
