Dearest Mary, Again another letter written as you say against time but I really cannot help it. As I wrote you on the train I had not time to read your letter even until then and since I have been driving all over Phila to attend to our exhibit. I am really desperate about it. Yes I have ordered the model for WomanGÇÖs Building. I was very tired again Sunday. Mrs. Walker staid [sic] a long time and I dictated letters all the evening. I sent you by express today some more books at a venture. Balisteer you know I met and liked, really immensely, in our 2 -+ hrs talk at dinner at GosseGÇÖs. Return these books to me but the first lot direct to WilsonGÇÖs Library 115 South 11th (Eleventh) St Phila and mark on them returned by Miss Thomas. Try reading trash when you are tired, indeed it is better than newspapers. You must not write to me in the evening nor when your back is aching. Mr. GwinnGÇÖs letter needed no answer, I thought. And send the answer to JohnGÇÖs from B.M. JuliaGÇÖs is forwarded with proper directions. Now my cabman is here and I must go to see Ed. Bettle the last Trustee except Comfort and then I shall have done all I can. My letter to Francis Cope I cannot get into satisfactory shape. It may so easily do more harm than good. Mamie and I are exhausted by our attempts. You shall see copies of everything. Chas. Taylor too I must write to. I am afraid Dr. Rh is really more ill than they think him and things must go on irrespective of him. If your Trustees letter has not gone perhaps GÇ£at her discretionGÇ¥ would be better than GÇ£sole and absoluteGÇ¥ as being less militant and less apt to provoke them - do you not think perhaps? I am so delighted you are better. Please worry about nothing. Your letter today was very nice. I am glad you were to [sic] glad to have made me so happy as I have been since your letter about the $10000 and yet - the disappointment may be so much the greater. But we will not think of that. And I am also so glad to have Mamie so pleased as she is with your offer and I think it cannot fail to make a real difference. And then too your last stay at B.M. was far more successful than any previous one. Mamie has been perfectly lovely to me and has tried to comfort me in every possible way. You and she have been such a consolation and although I was sure it was making you ill - as it was and giving you see stopped your sickness just as I feared - it was very nice to have you here just then for me that is. Why not show your back to some really great specialist might it not be wise. Please do this. The nurse I thought I could get cannot go. Now goodbye from a hansom. How do you like hansom handwriting Sleep well and think sometimes of me even if you are so busy and so sleepy [Telegram: It is all right send both again as directed with all suggested changes omitting also sole and absolute so sorry for chill]
