Letter from Mary Elizabeth Garrett to M. Carey Thomas, January 24, 1892
Mary Garrett begins this letter by chastising M. Carey Thomas for not writing as often as they had agreed to. She then expresses disappointment that Bessie King's father did not leave any of his money to the Johns Hopkins Medical School fund. She writes of an earthquake that she experienced, and then of people that she has seen during her travels, and of friends who will visit her. She also writes about her health, and about her back pain. Included is a newsclipping from an Italian paper about the memorial held for Vittorio Emanuele, who had been King of Italy.
