Dearest Minnie, It would embarrass me to confess how many notes and letters I have had to write today, but still perhaps you will not reproach me for adding to their number by a few lines to you to thank you for your very nice one of this morning. It was very good of you to write it and I hope some of your good wishes for me and all of those for us both may be realized and I must sincerely hope that the year may bring you a great deal of success in the things you care for most and a great deal of happiness with it. As regards part of your wish for me, time does not make such losses any easier to bear, it only familiarizes you with them, and teaches you that a life worth living may still be yours; but I miss my mother and father more every week of every month and realize more fully what I have lost. I hope you will be spared such sorry for many years, and that more strength to bear and to do may come with each one. Lovingly yours, Mary E.G. 4 P.M.
