In this letter to her neice, Emily tells of her first visit to the Louvre with Miss Clements [Gabrielle D. Clements] and her mother. Emily was trying to secure a place for Edith in Paris (so that she could study art) with the assistance of Miss Hancock. Misses Clements and Hale [Ellen Day Hale] have already completed their course of studies. Hancock told her that Miss Hale was Ella Clement's partner, "what she meant by the last statement I did not know." The date of Emily's sailing is probably the first of September and she will share Miss Hale's stateroom. Expects to go to Holland after Paris.
