Addressed to her sister-in-law. Thanks for the papers reporting the suffrage meeting in Buffalo and glad that Hannah went. Emily notes that her name is on the committee and muses that she should be there instead of sauntering around Europe; will try to make up for lost time when she returns. Is concerned about her house if Sarah (probably Sarah Jacobs) leaves. Is very concerned that young boarders without supervision would be disastrous. Emily is inclined to stay in Europe all winter because cholera has kept her from doing some of what she wished to do and she does not expect to return. Wanted to go to Munich (instead of Vienna) because she had read a book by a daughter of William and Mary Howitt entitled "Art Student in Munich."
