Written from a camp near Warrenton. Offers sympathies over her damaged house caused by the draft riots in New York City. Thanks Gibbons for visiting his sister Rose Wagner. Is tired of field work and plans to retire to civilian life if he isn't relieved by October. Describes his experiences at Gettysburg, and wishes Gibbons had been there. Is sorry that she has left the hospital in Point Lookout, Maryland, saying "you are so closely identified with the place, that I am afraid things will not be well conducted in your department without you." Asks about the Gazette. Has been relieved as Medical Director and is now the Medical Inspector for the corps.
