Martha Schofield was a Quaker educator who founded the Schofield Normal and Industrial Institute for African Americans. Probably addressed to Anna M. Jackson and the Yearly Quaker Meeting. Describes the racial violence inflicted on African Americans in the South and discusses the necessity of education as the primary means of black empowerment.
