Written from Roadside. Lucretia Mott discusses recent news concerning family and friends. She talks about the construction of Martha and George Lord's home. She describes going to Swarthmore for an event where the "Treaty-Penn picture" was presented by George Truman, Clarkson Taylor, and Professor Magill. Some Orthodox Quakers and Martha Wright were at Swarthmore for the event. Partially written over a letter dated March 19, 1871, to "Edward," likely Edward Hopper or Edward M. Davis; the signature is hard to make out.
