Written from Roadside. Lucretia Mott describes having her Yarnall family members over for a visit. She also provides news of recent activities of family and friends. She mentions the train accident William Lloyd Garrison Jr. was involved in and says he has partial loss of the use of his hand, and it is permanently disfigured. She recounts learning of the death of her daughter-in-law and niece, Marianna Pelham Mott. Partially written over a letter on "Headquarters Equal Rights Party" stationery dated June 14, 1872 from Caroline H. Spear to Lucretia Mott, in which she seeks Lucretia's opinion on the "Platform of Principle of the Equal Rights Party" and asks for suggestions for a nominee for vice-president. Also partially written over a letter dated May 29, 1872 from Samuel Willets to Lucretia Mott, in which he asks when would be best for her to hold the manager's meeting of the "Colored Mission House."
