Mary Grew letter to Anna Davis Hallowell
Provides her recollections of Lucretia Mott for the development of Lucretia Mott's biography (Anna Davis Hallowell was in charge of the biography's development). Recounts historic events of the abolitionist movement and Lucretia Mott's involvement, including sexism within the movement, the establishment of the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society (which Mott served as president of), anti-slavery fairs, rioting mobs, Mott's boycotting of products made by slave labor, aiding former slave Jane Johnson, and attending trials in support of fugitive slaves, including Daniel (Dangerfield) Webster. Briefly discusses Mott's participation in the women's rights movement. Says, "And generations of women yet unborn shall rise up and call her blessed."
