Written from Roadside. Likely to Martha Mott Lord, but possibly to Anna Coffin Temple Brown instead or as well, and possibly in part to Martha Coffin Wright. Written in part over a pencil letter from Lucretia Mott's grandchild to Mott's great-niece Marion "Minnie" Brown, and in part over a letter on the stationery of Walter Brown & Co. (Brown was Mott's nephew). Mott passes along news of family and friends, including a description of Anna and Edward Hopper moving into a new house and the work Mott has been doing with carpets. She also makes a passing reference to "Harriet Tubman's case" and comments on "The Head and the Heart."
