Description

Handwritten copy of original letter from Thomas P. Cope to brother-in-law John Thomas, requesting that they cease their business partnership at "Cope & Thomas" because of Thomas' neglegence towards account books. According to a postscript on pages 2-3, "No reply was ever received- nor were the books of Cope & Thomas ever balanced- J.T. who kept them could not be induced to make the necessary entries.
