Dearest Minnie, It was very pleasant to get your letter today. About the Shelley, you have my entire forgiveness, in spite of its revolutionary color. Miss Irwin sounds very nice, but it seems like too easy a solution to be a probable one. If you want me to come for Saturday, I will certainly try to arrange it. Let me know as soon as you find out whether you do, as I agree with you that probably discussing possibilities with 3 of our formidable body might be too trying, and if you do, at what time she is to arrive on Saturday. I can then decide whether to try to get off Friday afternoon, getting back Sunday, or Saturday morning getting back Monday. The latter I think would be more easily arranged. I asked Mr. Marshall to mail you the plan clearing the lot with proposed location of the School house. Please return it so that it will reach here on Wednesday morning, if possible as it is needed. I only wish I could hope it would convince you girls as promptly as it did Bessie. You will note that it is so placed as to give the effect of being in the middle of the lot, which putting it exactly middle of the front line would not give. I cannot see how the desirability of this when considering the matter architecturally and aesthetically can be doubted for an instant, and so am hoping for a favorable answer to my telegram. I left town I regret to say only at 7 this evening, having just finished signing the contract for all the mason work with Messrs. Ferguson and Brr. to be completed on May 1st, they agreeing to a forfeit clause if it is not completed on that date. On Wednesday morning the work will begin and I should like you and Mamie to know how very much my mind is relieved by this state of things. This is almost all a Committee letter after all, isnGÇÖt it. The B.M.S. is a Moloch. I caught a glimpse of Mamie arriving on Friday night as I was waiting for Miss Saddington, but I only went into town on Saturday afternoon with the plans (which had reached me only that morning) to show Bessie, and on Sunday not at all, as I was very tired and also had a great deal to do out here. Let me know about Saturday as soon as you can and if that is not pretty soon, by telegram, as there are a few things I must attend to if I am going. With love for Mamie and many thanks for the letter, Yours, Mary E.G.
