Recto of the last page contains a number of signatures. Verso of the last page contains additional writing in a second and third hand with additional signatures. First page has a large diagonal tear. Bottom of the last page is missing an 8.5 x 5.0 cm portion of parchment.

Building agreement between Claude Focques and Guillume Marchant (master masons and architects) and King Charles IX regarding royal buildings in Noyon-sur-Andelle, Gisors, Normandy. Cursive. Dark brown/black ink. This manuscript contains three different documents which have been sewn together and relate to the same building agreement. Bottom left of each recto has been pierced. First document is 3 pages written in cursive and contains a detailed estimate by Marchant and Focques of the amount of masonry and building materials required in the works at Noyon. Verso of the third page is blank. Second document is a 2 page agreement for work, signed by Claude Focques and Guillme Marchant. Verso of the second page is blank. Third document is a public instrument setting forth the engagement of the two master masons, accompanied by a copy of a letter to Monsieur Durescu from the king apparently stating his approval of Durescu's bargain with G. Marchant and C. Focques and desiring the building to be put in hand at once. It is dated 3 December 1570 and signed by Pauraiy(?) and Parque (notaries?). The verso is blank. The verso of the last page contains a description of the document including the date 1570 and "Noyon." An English translation of the second document and a summary of the first and third documents accompany the manuscript.

Legal document. Brown ink. First page of the recto has a wide left margin. The date"31 Julliet 1623" is in the top left corner. Most pages are filled with writing, but the verso of the second page has only 6 lines. These lines are followed by two large signatures and perhaps a third, smaller signature. Also on the verso of the second page is diagonal cursive writing that slants upward. Four lines of writing appear perpendicular to the principal text. All of the pages, save the verso of the second page, have a short, horizontal squiggly mark below the last line of the text.

Financial document. Tax roll from Fontenay. Gothic bastard hand. Brown ink. The roll consists of 2 different pieces of parchment which are sewn together with blue thread. Document contains a descriptive paragraph with multiple paragraph headings and paragraphs below them. Crosses with notations and the letter "p" occur to the left of each paragraph. Numbers in the right margin. The verso contains some writing: "Philips 32167, a rather modern summary of the document in brown ink, 8? Liasse/ 4? Dossier, and a line of writing in Gothic bastard hand at the top.

Letter signed by Henry IV of France, written to the general of the papal forces at Conti d'Avignon thanking him for his continued service and dedication. Cursive. Brown ink. The page has a wide left margin, and the text runs to the right edge of the page. Centered just below the last line of text is the signature of Henry IV of France "Henry." At the bottom right of the page is an unintelligible signature. While the recto of the page appears to be seamless, the verso looks as if three pieces of paper have been attached to one another. The top part includes the body of the letter and signature of Henry. The middle section is blank on the recto, but on the verso contains a summary of the letter and perhaps the remains of a seal. The third portion contains the aforementioned unintelligible signature on the recto. French transcription and English translation of the document are available.

Document to Coligny (?). Cursive in brown ink. Letters of the top line are twice as large as the rest. An initial 8-line long "J" is decorated with elaborate line design. The hook of the "J" extends dramatically into the left hand margin. Writing on verso only. Trimmed at the top, bottom, and right sides.
