Land grant of John de Hulle. Gothic bastard hand. Dark brown ink. On the recto, the blank space at the end of the text is filled in by thin, disconnected lines. The bottom of the page is folded up, and a pendent seal is attached by means of parchment. The shape of the seal is eye-like. The black wax seal contains a central image surrounded by text, and the back of it is spherical and smooth. Verso contains writing: "Confirmatio (?) John de Hulle, irchall co. Salop. S.L." (middle) and "Phillips MS 36297" (right). There is undecipherable writing at the bottom left of the verso in light black ink.

Treasury document signed by William Cecil Lord Burghley (Burleigh) when he was Lord High Treasurer of Elizabeth I requesting that George Cobham, messenger of the queen, be reimbursed for his charges and pains during message delivering. Dark brown ink. Top right corner of the document reads "Mensis Januariis Anno Reginae Elizabeth vicesimo quinto" in two lines. A vertical squiggly line stands to the right of these, and the year 1592 is written just right of that. The main body of the text is bounded at the top, bottom, and right side by an ink line. The signature of Lord Burghley appears just below the last line, on the right side of the page in black ink. Three additional lines in brown ink in a second hand appear at the bottom. To the right of these lines is the signature "Tho. Wilkes" in black ink. At the bottom right of the verso, George Cobham...Bill in brown ink appears perpendicular to the text on the recto. The verso contains some writing: "De ... in Oberton/22.E.4/Charta Thomas Penson...xre (Christ)" and "222." Two square shaped holes appear in the top left corner of the recto.

Legal document. Indenture for a messuage from Joseph Murray of Gosport to Reverend John Bird of Hurminster. On the recto, This Indenture, printed in large black ink letters, begins the document. The interior of the "T" of "This" contains a printed image of King George III, and a lady angel or herald holding a horn is to his left on the exterior of the "T." Below King George is his coat of arms surrounded by the phrase "Honi soit qui mal y pense." A lion rampant guardant stands on the left of the seal, and a unicorn stands to the right of it. Manuscript components are mostly cursive in brown ink. Words such as "Witnesseth" and "between" are large and bold. The bottom of the document is folded up and sealed with a red wax seal on top of green ribbon. The signature of Joseph Murray is near the seal. The text is surrounded by faint brown ink lines. Left margin contains a 1 shilling tax stamp as well as a black ink stamp "X" inside of a circle. The verso contains the signatures of witnesses, a "retrieved" note, and a summary of the document's contents. Prickings on the left and right sides. Metal point ruling. Top of document has a wavy edge.
