Below the principal text are 8 lines of space, followed by 2 lines of text (and signatures?). Some of this space is interrupted by capital letters in the top line of this text. Light brown ink ruling. Holes at the bottom of the page suggest that the document was previously sealed.

Legal document regarding bail. Cursive. Brown ink. First line of text is significantly larger than the others. Left margin of the recto of the first page contains writing describing the document. The top half of the verso of the last page contains the end of the text, followed by signatures. The bottom half of the verso of the last page contains cursive writing in a second hand followed by more signatures. Ink is worn away in some places. Pages are attached by brown twine. Description:
Legal document. Indenture relating to the selling (?) of a joint business and a list of debts owed to the business. Contract is between Edward Ffrancklin, citizen of Loudon, and Thomas Stokes. Cursive. Black ink. Text begins with an 8-line capital "T" which begins "This Indenture, also in large, bold black letters. The top (and interior of some letters) are elaborately decorated with swirling lines and dots. Inside of the capital T" contains a stamped seal that reads "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE." The top of the seal has a crown, and inside of the surrounding text is a coat of arms that contains lions stantant and fleur-de-lis in the top left and bottom right quarters. The top right quarter contains a lion rampant, and the bottom left corner contains the stringed argent. Wide left and bottom margin. Text runs to the right edge of the parchment. The verso contains a summary of the indenture and is signed by B. Pratt, Samuell Heap..., and Watson/Winston (?) Birling. Strands of parchment at the bottom of the page contain a red wax pendent seal, to which is attached a list of who owes how much money to T. Stokes and E. Ffrancklin. Writing on both sides. Blind ruling. Attached to this by means of parchment is an additional, smaller piece of parchment with tallies of debts created by T. Stokes. The seal that connects the documents is just barely attached.

Description:
Marriage contract between Belenguer de Bardaxi (?) Bachilleren and Isabella Ram, the daughter of Thomas Ram and Sabrina de Barbasto. Gothic hand. Light brown ink. The first letter of text is slightly larger than the rest of the text. After the main text of the document, there is a gap, followed by a penwork notarial seal. To the left of the seal is "Sig.", the tail of which "g" forms the left arm of the seal. The right arm of the seal goes directly into a single line of text which is probably the notary's affirmation of the document. Bottom of the page contains three identical, evenly spaced markings that go off the edge of the page. The verso contains 4 different sections of writing, including a rather modern Spanish summary of the contents of the document.

Land grant from Roger (Howalls?). Gothic bastard hand. Dark brown ink. The recto contains two square holes in the top left corner. Text begins with a 2-line capital. 2 paragraphs. Document is torn at the bottom. Two red wax pendent seals are attached to the bottom left corner. The verso is blank, except for some modern writing in pencil. (The date given is 18 Ed. IV. The date of this grant, then, is slightly uncertain due to the fact that Edward IV was deposed in 1470 and enthroned a second time in 1471.)

Legal Document. Indenture for a messuage between Robert Miller Forbes (first part) and Isaac Clementson (second part) and Henry Whitear (third part). On the recto, This Indenture, printed in large black ink letters, begins the document. Within the capital "T" is a seal in black ink which is topped by a crown and contains the words "Honi soit qui mal y pense." In the hook of the "T" is printed "Morris Parchment Dealer Bermondsey." Manuscript is cursive in brown ink. The phrase "and whereas" appears in slightly larger and bolder letters. The text is bounded by red ink lines. Left margin contains a tax stamp for 15 shillings and a small black ink stamp containing a crown and "S.D./ V./3:6." Bottom of the document is folded up and sealed with three red wax seals on top of green ribbon. The seals contain the portrait of a beardless, short-haired man facing left. The signatures of Forbes and Clementson appear by the left and middle seals. The verso contains signatures of witnesses and a summary of the document's contents. Prickings on left side of the page. Brown ink ruling. Top of document has a wavy edge.

Legal document regarding the settlement of the marriage between Alexander John Baylis, Esquire, and Sarah Ann Hopgood. Cursive. Black and Brown ink. Double red ink lines bound the text of the documents. All documents are folded at the bottom and sealed together with green ribbon and (four) red wax seals containing the letter "H". The folded portion of the document contains the signatures of Alexander Baylis, Sarah Ann Hopgood, Wyndham Hart, and Joseph Emerson Dowson. Some pages contain tax stamps.

Description:
Building agreement between Claude Focques and Guillume Marchant (master masons and architects) and King Charles IX regarding royal buildings in Noyon-sur-Andelle, Gisors, Normandy. Cursive. Dark brown/black ink. This manuscript contains three different documents which have been sewn together and relate to the same building agreement. Bottom left of each recto has been pierced. First document is 3 pages written in cursive and contains a detailed estimate by Marchant and Focques of the amount of masonry and building materials required in the works at Noyon. Verso of the third page is blank. Second document is a 2 page agreement for work, signed by Claude Focques and Guillme Marchant. Verso of the second page is blank. Third document is a public instrument setting forth the engagement of the two master masons, accompanied by a copy of a letter to Monsieur Durescu from the king apparently stating his approval of Durescu's bargain with G. Marchant and C. Focques and desiring the building to be put in hand at once. It is dated 3 December 1570 and signed by Pauraiy(?) and Parque (notaries?). The verso is blank. The verso of the last page contains a description of the document including the date 1570 and "Noyon." An English translation of the second document and a summary of the first and third documents accompany the manuscript.
