Document. Modern cursive. Brown ink. Recto contains text which is poorly preserved at the top and in the center of the document. Parchment is trimmed at the top and right. Below the principal text are 8 lines of space, followed by 2 lines of text (and signatures?). Some of this space is interrupted by capital letters in the top line of this text. Light brown ink ruling. Holes at the bottom of the page suggest that the document was previously sealed.

Missal. Readings from St. Paul, St. Luke, and St. John. Carolingian minuscule. Brown ink. Initials are 2 lines long and in red ink. Blind ruling. Writing on both sides.

Land grant from Roger (Howalls?). Gothic bastard hand. Dark brown ink. The recto contains two square holes in the top left corner. Text begins with a 2-line capital. 2 paragraphs. Document is torn at the bottom. Two red wax pendent seals are attached to the bottom left corner. The verso is blank, except for some modern writing in pencil. (The date given is 18 Ed. IV. The date of this grant, then, is slightly uncertain due to the fact that Edward IV was deposed in 1470 and enthroned a second time in 1471.)

Legal Document. Indenture for a messuage between Robert Miller Forbes (first part) and Isaac Clementson (second part) and Henry Whitear (third part). On the recto, This Indenture, printed in large black ink letters, begins the document. Within the capital "T" is a seal in black ink which is topped by a crown and contains the words "Honi soit qui mal y pense." In the hook of the "T" is printed "Morris Parchment Dealer Bermondsey." Manuscript is cursive in brown ink. The phrase "and whereas" appears in slightly larger and bolder letters. The text is bounded by red ink lines. Left margin contains a tax stamp for 15 shillings and a small black ink stamp containing a crown and "S.D./ V./3:6." Bottom of the document is folded up and sealed with three red wax seals on top of green ribbon. The seals contain the portrait of a beardless, short-haired man facing left. The signatures of Forbes and Clementson appear by the left and middle seals. The verso contains signatures of witnesses and a summary of the document's contents. Prickings on left side of the page. Brown ink ruling. Top of document has a wavy edge.

Bible. Commentary on St. Paul's Epistle to the Romans I, 1-3. Early Gothic minuscule. Black ink. A decorative illustration appears before the principal text. A one-line, blue initial begins a sentence. There are two columns of commentary written in half the size of the principal text. The verso contains commentary only.

Document. Gothic cursive. Dark brown ink. Top and left edge of parchment are wavy. The remains of some writing is visible on the left edge of the recto. Verso contains one line of writing which is perpendicular to the main text. Trimmed.

Legal document by John Gernoun appointing as his attorneys Edmund Bretoun, John Jarde, and Alescander Pondere to deliver to Sir Walter Fitz Water, Lord of Wodham, Robert de Swynbourne, Richard Waldegrave, John de Rookwode, William Asteby, and Humphrey de Westone, seizin of the Manor of Abyngdon, Northants, with the advowson of the church there. Dated at Wykes in the county of Cambridge on the Friday before the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. 6th Richard II. Gothic bastard hand. Brown ink. Recto contains a red wax seal with an image surrounded by text. "6 R 2" appears in the top left corner in light brown ink in a second hand. Verso is not visible because the manuscript fragment is sewn to a piece of cardboard (which has a description of the item in modern hand in black ink).

Epistle. Gothic cursive in black ink. Writing on both sides.

Two Papal Bulls and epistles relating to the request of the decree. Clement VII allows two cousins, Antonio de Herrera (son of Guero de Herrera and son of Ana de Mercado) and Barbara de Herrera, to wed. All of the documents are sewn together with a white thread that feeds into each hole at a sharp angle. The first document is a rather modern Spanish description of the contents of the document, in cursive, in dark brown ink. It is made of paper and creates the front and back page of the grouping. The verso of the first page is blank. The sheet that serves as the back cover of the document contains another summary of the document in Spanish, and its verso is blank. The second document is a single page of paper, in dark brown ink, in Spanish. It contains three paragraphs, followed by a signature, and a fourth paragraph (a postscript) with the same signature after it. The recto is blank. The third document is a half sheet of paper, written in cursive in dark brown ink with at least one signature. Writing on both sides. The fourth document is a half sheet of paper in cursive in dark brown ink with two signatures at the bottom. The recto is blank. The fifth document contains cursive in dark brown ink with two signatures on paper. The folio is a full page, but the writing consumes only the top half. The sixth document is in cursive in dark brown ink, 3/4 of a page of paper, and contains three signatures. The verso is blank. The seventh document is a papal bull on parchment in Gothic hand, with dark brown ink. Latin. Metal point ruling. A (tin?) metal bulla in the shaped like an eye is attached through two holes by means of a thick brown twine. The eighth document is another papal bull in black ink on parchment with metal point ruling. The bulla of this document is also metal and in the shaped like an eye. This metal bulla looks like a box with no lid, whereas the one attached to the seventh document is flat and lid-like. The twine attaching the bulla is finely braided.
