While I certainly do not think that Kate ought to have asked for the advance sheets, I think she probably asked for them with the hope of influencing her father to change his mind. I return you the proof (as I had meant to do before) so that if I should be asked for them, I can say I have not a copy. Of course no one has seen them but myself or has even know that I had them.
