Dear Minnie, I will see Mamie this afternoon if possible and discuss the Miss Clemes question with her. Bessie yesterday afternoon almost at once began about N.E., and I found to my distress that apparently nothing had been said to her about our ideas in regard to no [illegible] of a member of the Committee. I gave my opinion as I could not help it and she did not half like it. L.W.GÇÖs answer has not come yet, queerly enough. Jennie has fixed no date in her visit, but I think it very unlikely that it will be next week or I should have heard before this. I think it really is doubtful whether she will get here before the beginning of November. I am sorry you could not get to BessyGÇÖs wedding. I am sure she will like the spoons and I appreciate the sacrifice. I shall look for the long letter and be disappointed if it does not come. In (as you can see) great haste, Yours, Mary E.G.
