Liturgical text for Saint Peter and Saint Catherine (?). Dark brown ink. On the recto, 2-line, brown ink capital letters in the left margins begin paragraphs. Different paragraphs are generously separated from one another and have centered titles. On the verso, 1-line capital letters in brown ink begin paragraphs. In the middle of the page is a verse that is centered and written in all magiscule letters. Blind ruling. Knife prickings on the left side of the page.

Prayer book with liturgical lyrics for Passion Week and other occasions. Black ink with rubrics. Writing on both sides of each page. 2 columns. Leaves are contained in leather folder with decorative green and brown paper on the interior. A book plate reading "Ex Libris Arnold Mettler Specker" is on the interior.

Land grant from John Cohys to one Philip of land in Ouston. Gothic bastard hand. Dark brown or black ink. Recto contains two square holes in the top left corner. The end of the last line of text is consumed by disconnected lines. The bottom of the page is folded and sealed with a red wax pendent seal. The verso contains writing: "221"; "John..Cohyus grant to Philip...land in Ouston."

Legal document. Lease of unit number 12 of the Charecroft Estate by George Frederick John Tippett to Philip Pearce. Mostly cursive. Black ink. The document begins with "This Indenture" in bold black ink letters, but "This I" is covered by a tax stamp for 5 shillings. Overlapping the tax stamp is a small, circular black ink stamp in which "London, a crown, and 10-8-72" appears. Throughout the document words such as "Between, Witnesseth, and All" appear in bold and are slightly larger than the rest of the text. The text on each page is bounded by sets of singular or double red lines which seem to be hand drawn. The recto of the first page contains a map of the Charecroft Estate which contains six units. Dimensions of the estate, street names, and dimensions of individual units are included on the map. Unit 12 is outlined in red and colored in with pink or red ink. Recto of the last page of the document contains a red wax seal on top of green ribbon. To the left of the seal is the signature of Philip Pearce. Witness signatures are below this. The verso of the final page contains a summary of the lease document and a red ink stamp that reads, H. M. Land Registry London,/Title No. 300198 (number handwritten in green ink)/ Lease Determined/ Register Closed. The document is tied together by means of thin green ribbon which goes through the left hand side of the document.

Homily. Moral exhortation for monks on how to behave. Carolingian minuscule. Black ink. 2 columns. Trimmed at bottom and side edges.

Grant of nobility to Martin Lechner Elden von Lehensberg signed by Leopold II. Fraktur. Black ink. Main parchment document is bound in a red velvet cover with two end pages made of paper. Some pages have decorated borders and illustrations. Coat of arms appears on the 8th page; it is painted in blue, silver, and red ink and gold-leaf. Signature of Leopold II on the recto of the 10th page. Document is sealed with a red-wax seal in a metal container that is 14.1 cm in diameter. Seal depicts two griffins flanking a coat of arms, topped by a crown. The seal's image is surrounded by text.

Literature. Narrative text about death, battles, and traveling from city to city. Dark brown ink. The ink on the recto is much more faded than that of the verso. Interlinear notations consisting of an omicron and another letter (omicron, omicron-alpha, omicron-beta, omicron-gamma, and so forth) mark points in the text which are commented on in the margins. The recto contains notations omicron to omicron-gamma in the right margin, and the verso contains notations omicron-delta to omicron-zeta(?) in the left margin. Notations are tiny and in light brown ink. Blind ruling. [The city of Alexandria may be named. The devil is referred to as "misokalos diabolos" ('the good-hating Devil).]

Legal document. Conveyance of a messuage from the governors of the Charter House to Richard Walker. On the recto, This Indenture, printed in large black ink letters, begins the document. Within the capital "T" is a seal in black ink which is topped by a crown and contains the words "Honi soit qui mal y pense." "S.O." is printed above "This indenture." Manuscript components are cursive in black ink. A double red line bounds the text on the left and right sides; three sets of double red lines are in the top margin; a set of triple red lines bounds the bottom of the text. The bottom of the document is folded up and sealed with a red wax seal on top of string. The signature of Richard Walker is near the seal. The bottom is also sealed by means of parchment with two rectangular pieces of parchment hanging from the edge. Left margin is filled with tax stamps: 3 for one shilling, 1 for six pence and one shilling, 2 for three shillings, and 1 for ten shillings. Verso contains a summary of the document as well as a note about a later transaction involving the same messuage. Prickings on right side of the page.

Treasury document signed by William Cecil Lord Burghley (Burleigh) when he was Lord High Treasurer of Elizabeth I requesting that George Cobham, messenger of the queen, be reimbursed for his charges and pains during message delivering. Dark brown ink. Top right corner of the document reads "Mensis Januariis Anno Reginae Elizabeth vicesimo quinto" in two lines. A vertical squiggly line stands to the right of these, and the year 1592 is written just right of that. The main body of the text is bounded at the top, bottom, and right side by an ink line. The signature of Lord Burghley appears just below the last line, on the right side of the page in black ink. Three additional lines in brown ink in a second hand appear at the bottom. To the right of these lines is the signature "Tho. Wilkes" in black ink. At the bottom right of the verso, George Cobham...Bill in brown ink appears perpendicular to the text on the recto. Legenda Aurea: De Sancto Nicolao by Jacobus de Voragine (Chapter 3 ff.). Gothic hand in black ink. "De Sancto" appears in red ink above column one, and "Nicolao" appears in red ink above column two on both recto and verso. The numeral "III" appears in red ink in the top right margin of the recto. Alternating red and blue ink paragraph markers. Letters which begin sentences are colored in with red ink. Writing in a second hand is in the bottom margin of the verso. 2 columns.
